Yes, the event is completely online including the final stages. Frifty Search chrome extension will be an important tool to help in the treasure hunt, it will act as a search assistant for the participant.
Are there fees for registration?
No, the event is completely free and open to all.
How would the scoring happen in each round?
The scoring system for the Online Treasure Hunt will take into account both the difficulty level of each question and the time taken to answer it, with higher points awarded for more difficult questions and faster response times. The order of question difficulty will be random, adding an element of surprise and making the game more challenging. The final score for the treasure hunt is the sum of the scores for each question. Top scorers will find their place in the leaderboard and advance to the Finale round.
I registered late i.e. after 20th Feb, does that put me at a disadvantage?
Maybe, but not by much. Your scores are calculated based on the time taken to solve each round. So, a late registration doesn't penalize you. However, in case of a tiebreaker, the participant who solved the puzzle or cleared the round first will be given a preference.
What does the Frifty extension do?
Frifty Search renders interactive widgets directly under your Google search bar. This saves you the hassle of visiting websites or signing up for simple tasks.
How do I access these widgets?
If you have the extension added to your browser, the widgets shall appear when you are searching for the right keywords in your Google search.

The eligibility criteria for winning a prize in the treasure hunt is to have the extension installed from the date of registration to the end of the treasure hunt. Additionally, the extension will also be a source of surprise hints in the treasure hunt.
Do I have to keep the extension installed throughout the treasure hunt?
Yes, the extension allows us to verify your frifty id and treats your registration as a valid one. Uninstalling the extension or removing it from your browser and reinstalling it later might lead to the creation of a new Frifty id. I am uncomfortable keeping an extension installed - does Frifty access my personal information?
Frifty values your privacy and doesn't collect or store any personal information. We can only identify users via their frifty id which is a randomly generated unique code. By linking your frifty id to the treasure hunt, we can verify that you are a participant who had Frifty installed throughout the treasure hunt. And have played the game on your own. However, we don't store your personal information and will not be able to identify you post the competition. Frifty is completely safe and compliant with privacy laws across the globe.
